Big Brother Diary

Click on the day below to find out what happened on that day:

Day 08: (30/05/2003 - Friday)

Today is the day of the first Big Brother eviction of the series.  Is it to be Anouska      Federico

Jon              Scott?

Well, lots of people thought it may be Federico for failing the task on Monday or Jon because he is sooooo boring.

Throughout the day, the nominees could not stop thinking about the impending eviction on the house.  What a terrible time the housemates were having when they had to wait for Davina to announce who the public had voted to throw out.

The announcement finally came and it was Anouska who attained 45.9% of the vote.  Anouska was given 1 hour to pack and say her goodbyes to her 11 new friends and housemates for the past week.  Gos was in tears and Cameron was very close, but Sissy was the one who the most shocked.  She couldn't believe that she had nominated her, but then grew to like her and now she's being evicted.

Anouska was given one minute to leave the house and off she went for her interview with Davina.

Day 09: (31/05/2003 - Saturday)
At 9:05pm, the housemates were set their FIRST live task of the series.  Earlier in the morning, the group had discovered that Big Brother had made white markings on the grass in the garden.  They instantly thought it was for a tug - o - war contest  -  they were correct!!
The housemates were instructed to elect an umpire, who was Sissy and then Sissy was told to split the remaining housemates into 2 groups of 5.  Once she shouted "HEAVE", the housemates could begin and the winners were the green team (Gos, Steph, Justine, Jon & Scott).  The umpire automatically won the task.

The losers were told to stay in the garden and the winners were instructed to visit the diary room.  They were told that they were to walk down the corridor and move the plant carefully to the right and press firmly against the centre of the tiled wall.

A secret room was revealed, which had a dance floor, champagne, music, food and other luxuries.  A telephone was also in the room for the group to communicate with Big Brother.

The winners were not allowed to leave the room until Midnight when their prize finished.

Day 10: (01/06/2003 - Sunday)
As Federico continues to prove he can sleep for Scotland (he eventually surfaced at 1.40pm), Jon is becoming increasingly annoyed by his housemate's bedtime habits. "I'm not actually sure what he does about the place, apart from make beans," he moaned to Cameron. And they're nominating tomorrow...

And if Jon is puzzled by Federico, Federico is equally puzzled by Jon. "I find it hard to surmise who he is," he reflected, adding:
"I don't know how he's coming over, maybe the people love him. He puts a very different slant on things. I would have said Jon would have been evicted before Anouska. It doesn't mean I thought he'd be out before me or Scott, but I didn't think it would be before Anouska."

During a discussion about careers, Tania told Steph and Justine she really doesn't know what she wants to do long-term. "I just want to stay at home, sleep late and go to lunch, over and over again," she admitted. In that case, 64 days in the Big Brother house should be a breeze...

While many housemates (apart from Tania) clearly hope Big Brother will be a springboard into bigger things - singing, presenting, corporate videos etc. - Jon has loftier ideas. The man from Norwich confidently claims to have the blueprint for "the best invention ever for a new toaster," which apparently involves cooking bread in sequence so you have time to butter each slice. Or something. "For the good of the country, build my toaster!" he exclaimed, perhaps forgetting that Dean and Stuart's patented Tea Bag Bin has yet to set the world of kitchen accessories alight.

Day 11: (02/06/2003 - Monday)
Today the housemates made their second nominations.  The results of these will be announced tomorrow and the nominations are playing on all the housemates' minds.
Last night the housemates undertook some bitching.  The lads talked about how the girls were eating all the food and that they will call a house meeting and that Jon will chair the meeting.
However, Justine and Steph were talking about Federico, who continuously winds Steph up.  Justine finds Jon very sexist but still insists that he is a "lovely guy".

Day 12: (03/06/2003 - Tuesday)
Today the nominations were announced.  The group gasped at Justine's shock nomination, but there was no response for Jon.  Jon was bound to be up for eviction as he is very boring.  The housemates cannot cope with him in the house.

As part of the cub scout task, Big Brother delivered a tent to the house for the group to practice on putting up a tent.  They will be tested on the task tomorrow where they will be asked questions on the cub scouts, put up a tent and also tie 5 knots.
The boys have said amongst themselves that it would be very hard if there were only boys in the house.  However, the girls agreed that they would love it if the house was left with only girls.  The boy girl divide is growing rapidly.  Will the start to mingle?  We'll find out soon enough.

Day 13: (04/06/2003 - Wednesday)
The end of the task is in sight.  Today the housemates have been frantically trying to get to grips with the cub scouts as they are being tested later today.
The questions were asked and all answers given in.  The parades over, no more tent pitching and no more knot tying.  Big Brother announces the results.
The parades were conducted fine, the tent was pitched correctly, all 5 knots were done perfectly.  However, when the housemates were tested, one of the group answered on of the questions wrongly.  This meant that they had failed the task.
The culprit??  Federico again!  Federico was asked to recite the cub scout law, but instead recited the cub scout promise leading the group to fail the task for a second week!!  Both tasks have now been failed because of Federico!
Federico went to see Big Brother as he was positive he had answered his question correctly and was promptly told that it was him who had answered the question incorrectly.  Big Brother told Federico that he was at liberty to tell the other housemates and that they won't tell them as all diary room conversations are kept confidential.
It is now up to Federico whether he tells the housemates.  Will he or won't he???

Day 14: (05/06/2003 - Thursday)
Federico has spoken to Big Brother and told him that he will not be telling the housemates that it was him who failed the task for them.  The group performed a cabaret in the night as it would give them something to do and entertainment for themselves.
Justine and Jon are now awaiting their fate.  VOTE for which housemates you would like to leave the house!!  They are depending on you to decide.  Don't forget that text voting closes tomorrow night at 7pm and the phone vote closes at 8:30pm.
