Eviction nights are tough enough. But when it's your housemates who deliver the killer blow, that's really gotta hurt. In tonight's ultra-mean twist, Big Brother put the Gurus on the spot and made them choose this week's evictee in one of the most nail-biting Friday nights the House has ever seen.

You've been voting in your numbers this week but Carole and Gerry received the most votes. Then, in the cunning Guru twist that Big Brother devised, Ziggy, Tracey and the twins had to make the agonising decision about who to evict between the two.

Gerry took the Gurus' decision like a man, but you had to feel for him.

His self-styled intellectualism didn't exactly go down well with some of the booze and kebab-loving crowd who felt he lorded over them once too often, and his refusal to enter into House arguments (at least until Biscuitgate and Watergate kicked off) meant that the other housemates perhaps found him too aloof for his own good.

Then, of course, there's the fact that the housemates don't like a fibber, and Gerry showed himself to be just that when he was rumbled in the Lie Detector Test. If you're going to lie about your age Gerry, at least knock more than two years off!

And it's just a theory, but the Lie Detector could well have been the deciding factor in Gerry's eviction. After all, the housemates' faces were like thunder when they watched him on the plasma screen saying yes, he would betray a fellow housemate to win the prize money, and yes, he did have a gameplan. Oh, why Gerry, why?!

Ta ta, Gerry. And so long, Freddie...
