Lesley was up with the birds on her first morning in the House, attempting to adjust to her new environment - and life without any home help.

As the oldest person in there, you might assume she has the most life experience. But, it seems her knowledge of certain domestic implements might be a bit vague.

Sat in the garden reading the House rules, she came across the section concerned with personal laundry - most notably the mangle.

"Stand behind the mangle so the handle and cogs are to your right," she read out loud as though she were practicing a foreign language.

"Feed the clothes through the rollers while turning the handle. Take care at all times not to trap your fingers."

"Or your head or your leg," she added laughing.

Wonder what she'll make of the mop and bucket?
