Big Brother News Archive:

Doctors and Nurses
The Housemates were woken up early by ambulance sirens and told by Big Brother that the House is going to become a hospital as part of a new task.

The sleepy Housemates are to be divided into a matron, three nurses and eight patients and will be given a series of treatments that need to be carried out, with suitable rewards on offer. Uniforms will also be supplied.

Lesley has already shown off her own nurse uniform and Makosi is a trained cardiac nurse, but you can be sure that Big Brother will have a few surprises in store that won't have been covered by any medical training manual.

These are the rules for this weeks task:
Housemates,

This week's task will test your first aid skills as the House is transformed into the Big Brother Hospital.

A Matron and three Nurses will run the Hospital. By coming to the Dairy Room, the Housemate reading these instructions has selected them self to be Matron. Matron is responsible for making sure that the Hospital meets the highest standards set by Doctor Big.

Matron has also chosen three other Housemates to be Nurses. Matron must now announce who the other three Nurses will be. The remaining Housemates will be Patients in the Hospital, and will be looked after by Matron and the Nurses.

Oh nurse, my head hurts! From now on, whenever the ambulance siren sounds, one Patient must come to the Diary Room within one minute. In the Diary Room, Doctor Big will diagnose the Patient and provide treatment instructions for Matron and the Nurses to carry out.

Rules:

ALL Housemates will be provided with uniforms and hospital clothing. These must be worn at all times during the task. It is the Matron's duty to ensure this happens.

The siren may go off at any time of the day or night. As soon as the siren goes off, a Patient will have one minute to get to the Diary Room.

A Patient can go to the Diary Room to be diagnosed by Doctor Big more than once.

At least two Nurses must be waiting outside the Diary Room to treat the Patient. The Nurses must take the Patient to the Treatment Table immediately.

Nurses will have 30 minutes to complete the initial treatment as instructed by Doctor Big.

All treatments should be carried out at the Treatment Table and the instructions must be read out clearly by Matron or a Nurse.

Matron and the Nurses are responsible for ensuring that the Patients are cared for as instructed by Doctor Big.

A Medical Handbook has been provided for Matron and the Nurses. They should familarise themselves with this and use it during the treatment of Patients.

Only Matron and the Nurses have permission to use the medical equipment provided. This equipment MUST NOT BE USED unless instructed to by Doctor Big.

Humphrey, the life-sized skeleton, can only be used under instruction from Doctor Big. Humphrey the skeleton IS NOT A TOY and should be treated with respect like any other Housemate.

If any of the above rules are broken the group will incur one fail.

The task will be failed if the group incur more than two fails each day for the duration of the task.

If you successfully pass the task, Doctor Big will reward Housemates with a luxury food budget for the following week.

And remember, an apple a day keeps the Doctor away.
